Tsukioka Park was formerly part of Kaminoyama Castle, which was torn down in 1873 and reconstructed in 1982. The Castle has an entrance fee and the park is filled with around 80 sakura in some varieties including somei yoshino. The sakura are lit up at night and take on an otherworldly charm next to the castle. Kaminoyama is also a hot spring town, and visitors can soak their feet in foot baths while gazing at the sakura.
