No.37 Kubo Cherry Tree of Isazawa
In an area known for its many large, old sakura, the Kubo cherry tree of Isazawa stands out as a giant. This edohigan is estimated to be an astounding 1,200 years old and is designated as a national Natural Monument. Its trunk measures 11.8 meters around, with a height of 13.85 meters and branches spreading out from 18.2 to 24.7 meters. The tree is supported by some 60 braces and has sustained some root damage, but is receiving expert care.
