No.89 Cherry Tree at Totsube
This impressive lone edohigan is more than 600 years old and designated by Fukushima Prefecture as a Natural Monument. It is also loved locally as the first sakura to bloom in the area. It stands 18 meters tall with a trunk that is 6.5 meters around. Its strong branches extend far and wide, belying its age. Photographers compete to capture trains on the Suigun Line passing by the sakura in bloom.
