No.1 Miharu Takizakura
The town of Miharu is home to what many consider the most beautiful cherry tree in Japan. Takizakura literally means waterfall cherry tree. This red weeping benishidarezakura and designated national Natural Monument lives up to its reputation. Estimated to be more than 1,000 years old, it is over 13 meters tall with drooping branches that cascade down like a waterfall in all four directions for 20 to 25 meters.
