No.54 Mizusawa Park
      This historic park in Oshu City was designed in 1878 and is filled with around 450 sakura in somei yoshino, shidarezakura, and edohigan varieties. A cluster of higanzakura trees estimated at 350 years old is designated as a Natural Monument by Iwate Prefecture. Mizusawa Park Flower Festival held from mid-April to the beginning of May features food vendors and night-time light-ups of the trees. The park also has a gym, baseball ground, track, and other recreational facilities.
