This park was the sight of an ancient battle, but now around 2,000 sakura create a beautiful sight in bloom each spring. Walking paths throughout the park take visitors around the somei yoshino, yamazakura and other varieties found here. Nakasen Sakura Festival is held each year from late April, with events held daily. The sakura lining the Sainai River around the Nakasen roadside station are also beautiful, with night-time illuminations planned.
