No.73 Nihon Kokka Park
Conveniently located about a 20-minute walk from Ikawasakura Station, Nihon Kokka Park has around 1,500 sakura in an astounding 140 varieties collected from all over Japan. These include fugenzo, beniyutaka, shogetsu, yokihi, light green gyoiko, and yellow ukon sakura as well as March-blooming jugatsuzakura and fuyuzakura. Somei yoshino bloom in April when Nihon Kokka Park Sakura Festival with night-time illuminations is also held, and May brings weeping shidarezakura and benishidarezakura.
