No.93 Hamadate Park

Hamadate Park in Yurihonjo overlooks the Japan Sea, a mere 500 meters away, from its perch 100 meters above sea level. It is the former site of an ancient mountain castle that used the land’s natural formations in its defense. The 3,000 or so somei yoshino on its grounds burst into bloom each spring. Their pale pink blossoms and the deep blue sea and sky create a scenic delight for the eyes.
