No.52 Genbikei Gorge

The dramatic two-kilometer Genbikei Gorge was carved out by the Iwai River and is designated as a National Place of Scenic Beauty and a Natural Monument. 200 somei yoshino and edohigan cherry trees create a breathtaking sight against the blue waters and white rapids. A walking path follows the gorge and visitors can even order flying dango, a Japanese sweet, using a basket pulled across the gorge by rope from the shop.
