Conveniently located near the center of Itayanagi Town, Iwaki River Park is a favorite leisure spot of locals that comes alive with 99 somei yoshino, shidarezakura and yaezakura blooming from late April to mid-May. The Itayanagi Sakura Festival is held around this time, with Tsugaru shamisen performances and performances by local youth groups. Apple orchards surrounding the park bloom in early May, and the park offers photogenic views of majestic snow-capped Mt. Iwaki.
